ALFONSO URZAINKI FROM EGILE CORPORATION XXI, NEW PRESIDENT OF ADDIMAT

24 May, 2017

The ADDIMAT General Assembly was held on 5 May last, in the auditorium of the Technology and Science Park of Guipuzcoa, San Sebastian, within the Advanced Manufacturing Day, a networking event organised by AFM CLUSTER. The ADDIMAT general meeting approved the management plan and the budget for 2017, it renewed the executive board and elected Alfonso Urzainki, from Egile Corporation, to preside the Spanish association of additive manufacturing and 3D technologies.

After the renewal, the ADDIMAT Executive Board is comprised of representatives from the following companies: ADDILAN, BEC, EGILE, FAGOR AUTOMATION, GRUPO SICNOVA, HP, IBARMIA, IK4, IKOR,  OPTIMUS3D and TUMAKER.

After the meeting, the additive manufacturing sector joined the main event, organised on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of AFM, which was presided by King Felipe VI. The event was also attended by the Minister of Health, Dolors Montserrat, the Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, the Head of the Provincial Council of Guipuzcoa, Markel Olano and the Government delegate in the Basque country, Javier de Andrés.

Over the last six years, the AFM association, which has turned 70, and which originally was the representative of the machine-tool sector, has incorporated new related groups, in all the cases, with advanced manufacturing technologies, such as additive manufacturing, tools and industrial hardware, and machining, until it now represents more than 370 companies.

300 people attended the event, including representatives from machine-tool, additive manufacturing, hardware and industrial supply companies, training centres, business associations and chambers, as well as from the institutional field.
