11 February, 2026NOVAINDEF welcomed the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) of the United States Navy to its advanced manufacturing facilities at the Rota Naval Base, as part of an institutional visit aimed at learning about the technological capabilities applied to naval sustainment.
During the meeting, the CNO visited the Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center (FDRMC) Detachment Rota, where he was able to see first-hand the operation of additive manufacturing solutions that enable deployed ships to remain in service, reducing response times and improving operational availability. These 3D printing capabilities are integrated into maintenance and repair processes to support both US and Spanish naval assets.
The visit was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Spanish Navy, and AJEMA, Admiral Antonio Piñeiro Sánchez, as well as officials from the Cádiz Arsenal and technical teams linked to CESFARE (Rota) and CEDAEC (Linares), in coordination with Grupo Sicnova and the FDRMC.
This institutional meeting reflects the strength of the strategic alliance between the two nations and their shared commitment to innovation, operational readiness, and technological excellence. The integration of advanced manufacturing and additive technologies consolidates a more agile, digital naval sustainment model geared toward the immediate availability of critical capabilities.
