KICK-OFF OF PROJECT ADDITOOL FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF METAL ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING IN THE TOOLING SECTOR

The kick-off meeting for the Interreg Sudoe ADDITOOL project was held on 11 October 2020. This project aims to promote the development and dissemination of Metal Additive Manufacturing (MAM) in the industrial tooling sector.

The consortium will carry out a study of the needs of the project sector and develop four demos using different MAM technologies, helping the SMEs involved to acquire new skills in the different processes.

ADDITOOL will also facilitate knowledge transfer to the entire SUDOE sector. New educational programmes will be developed for engineering students, as well as for industrial professionals or upskilling workers, with the support of public and national bodies. ADDITOOL knowledge and skill transfers will be based on greater mobility for teachers, researchers and doctoral students with the aim of sharing knowledge and all the good practices needed to advance together in multi-process MAM.

The project, involving institutions from Spain, France and Portugal, officially kicked off on 1 November 2020 and will run for 28 months. It has a budget of 1.71 million euros, 1.28 million euros of which will be subsidised with Feder funding.

The project partners are: École Supérieure des Technologies Industrielles Avancées (ESTIA), AFM CLUSTER, Spanish advanced and digital manufacturing cluster, CEFAMOL, Portuguese moulding industry association, CEIT, ENIT, Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace Development (FADA - CATEC), Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, LORTEK and the University of the Basque Country (EHU). Other associated entities actively collaborating towards the accomplishment of the project’s goals are: MEUPE, AEAA, AENCIA IDEA, CAF, GESTAMP, MECANIC VALLEY, LAUAK, SOMOCAP and POMBALPROF.
