04 November, 2026Fabrex will be taking part in Formnext 2026, from 17 to 20 November in Frankfurt, where it will unveil Rex, an artificial intelligence agent designed to integrate the processes of quoting, part layout (nesting), print file preparation (slicing) and machine execution into a single workflow.
Once a quote has been accepted, Rex uses data on geometry, material, quantity and lead time to group compatible parts and optimise their layout. It then prepares the manufacturing files according to the parameters of each machine, being compatible with powder-bed, resin and filament 3D printers from various manufacturers.
The solution also allows jobs to be sent to the machines and their status to be monitored, whilst ensuring approval by production managers and traceability of decisions.
With this technology, Fabrex aims to reduce manual tasks and improve production efficiency in industrial environments characterised by a wide variety of product references and small production volumes.
