29 October, 2026The AIMEN Technology Centre will take part in Formnext 2026, from 17 to 20 November in Frankfurt, where it will showcase its advances in additive manufacturing of magnets through the European MagNEO and REMHub projects, developed under the Horizon Europe programme.
The MagNEO project focuses on the development of high-performance, rare-earth-free permanent magnets, using materials such as AlNiCo and high-entropy alloys (HEAs). To this end, AIMEN employs laser-driven energy deposition (DED-LB) technologies, optimising the magnetic properties of the materials.
For its part, REMHub promotes circularity through technologies that enable the repair and recovery of damaged NdFeB magnets, thereby extending their service life and reducing resource consumption.
Both projects are also investigating the use of recycled magnetic powders through metal additive manufacturing and FFF and FPF/FGF extrusion technologies, as well as particle orientation during printing to produce magnets with improved performance and complex geometries.
