ADDIMAT PARTICIPATED IN THE INNOVATION 4.0 CONFERENCE – KEY ENABLING TECHNOLOGIES (KETS) FOR THE INDUSTRY OF THE FUTURE

11 November, 2016

The conference, organised by Axencia Galega de Innovación – GAIN -, in collaboration with AIMEN, presented key technologies to advance towards Industry 4.0 as well as the functioning and objectives of technological platforms and entities such as ADDIMAT (Spanish Association of Additive Manufacturing and 3D Technologies), AFM (Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Machine Tools, Accessories, Components and Tools), EUREKA SMART Advanced Manufacturing Cluster, MANU-KET (Spanish Advanced Manufacturing Technological Platform), and FOTONICA 21.

During the session, AIMEN presents its developments in the field of collaborative and flexible robotics, for the metal-mechanical, textile or naval sectors, among others, which purport to provide industry with multi-process systems, adaptable to new production needs and with intuitive operator handling.

In its presentation, ADDIMAT explained the forecast for the evolution of the additive manufacturing technology sector. It also participated in a round table, where the advantages of the use of key enabling technologies were spelled out, together with PSA Peugeot-Citroën, Selmark and AIMEN.

Finally, representatives from the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism (MINETUR), from the Centre for Technological and Industrial Development (CDTI) and from the Axencia Galega de Innovación (GAIN) intervened, highlighting the potential impact of digitalisation on the entire industrial value chain (product, process and business model), and its added value as a lever for Spain and Europe to recover their industrial importance. Furthermore, MINETUR presented the Connected Industry 4.0 initiative, based on raising the awareness of companies and training them, on collaboration between companies and knowledge centres, and the launch of new technology enabling firms. CDTI and GAIN also presented the main R&D&I support mechanisms that they provide to industry.
