Vicomtech is an applied research technology center specialized in Artificial Intelligence, Visual Computing & Interaction founded in 2001 and currently made up of more than 200 research professionals. At Vicomtech, digital technologies are researched and developed, always meeting market demand, and providing innovative solutions to companies that contribute to improving their processes and competitiveness.
Vicomtech's capabilities in additive manufacturing are distributed in different technological phases of the additive process, as well as in the particular and sectoral applications that use these technologies. On the one hand, the Center works on the treatment and generation of input files and contributes its experience in CAD models, in the generation of 3D meshes by scanning real objects or even direct generation of 3D models as a result of simulation processes and /or optimization. On the other hand, Vicomtech has technology for the final verification of the produced parts and finally, it has transversal skills that allow the addition of monitoring processes (cameras, sensors, etc…) that allow the detection of failures in the additive process as soon as possible to abort and save resources and avoid potential catastrophic failure. To address the aforementioned capabilities, Vicomtech relies on two of its own libraries: Geomlib and AMGLib.
