CEIT is a research center and member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA); its primary activity consists of developing applied industrial research projects under contract and in close collaboration with companies’ R&D and Innovation departments. CEIT’s researchers work together in interdisciplinary groups and are able to provide companies with innovative solutions in the areas of advanced manufacturing, sustainable mobility and the circular economy.
These three complementary areas, which encompass companies from different sectors, allow CEIT to expand its offer in matters such as: the design of metal powders for additive manufacturing, the atomization of metal powders, the design and additive manufacturing of metal parts using LMD and BJ, remote laser welding with and without filler material, advanced microstructural and mechanical characterization for additive manufacturing, HIP post-processing and conventional heat treatments for mechanical property improvement as well as laser post-processing for surface treatment (tempering, softening, polishing, functionalization).
