TECNALIA RESEARCHES TO PROVIDE SOLUTIONS TO THE ENTIRE VALUE CHAIN INVOLVED IN THE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING PROCESSES

TECNALIA researches to provide solutions to the entire value chain involved in the additive manufacturing processes.
In order to obtain pieces according to the specifications of each market, innovates in processes, materials and machines covering the complete cycle

TECNALIA will present at the ADDIT3D Fair (P5 / F-58) the research lines in which works in the framework of Additive Manufacturing, with a comprehensive approach that covers Materials, Products, Processes and Equipment, always from a technological and innovative point of view. This field includes the design of materials based on the characteristics and functionalities of the final products in metals, plastics, ceramics or hybrids. The final products in structural electronics using different materials and developing new tools for the simulation of processes and behavior or new manufacturing processes on Direct Metal Deposition in LMD, WAAM or thermal projection. These processes are developed with a hybrid machine, unique at state level, developed jointly with Ibarmia and EHU/UPV, which allows the creation of large metal pieces from scratch and finish them with high accuracy, as well as the reparation of high valued pieces for sectors such as automotive or aeronautical.

In terms of equipment we will present the application of the cable robot COGIRO for the production of large construction elements. It opens a completely new path to the industrialized manufacture of large pieces for buildings. This is the first cable robot able to print large pieces for 3D construction. The system, developed together with the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), will revolutionize construction due to its ability to build flexibly and on demand, customized pieces according to the desired design, and combining technological advances in robotics (cable robot and drones) and in software, as it will allows the creation of large architectural pieces, even small buildings, in situ.
